SA’s leading exhibitions recognised at annual EIA AAXO ROAR awards and EXSA EXSA-llence awards

South Africa’s top exhibitions and exhibition industry stakeholders have been recognised at the annual Exhibitions Industry Alliance (EIA) AAXO ROAR awards and EXSA EXSA-llence awards. The prestigious awards were presented at a gala Gatsby-themed dinner alongside the Exhibition of Exhibitions trade show in Johannesburg on 31 January.

Exhibition of Exhibitions, presented by the Association of African Exhibition Organisers (AAXO), is the exhibition industry’s primary industry product and service provider showcase and networking event. AAXO chairperson Leatitia van Straaten says Exhibition of Exhibitions and the EIA awards play an increasingly important role in encouraging excellence in the fast-growing exhibition and events industry.

“The exhibition and awards are the industry’s event of the year, and once again recognised shining examples of South African industry excellence – from event organisers through to suppliers and stand builders,” says van Straaten. The Exhibition Industry Awards, hosted by the Exhibition Industry Alliance uniting AAXO and EXSA, were attended by over 340 key stakeholders. ROAR, standing for Respect, Opportunities, Achievements & Recognition, are aimed at acknowledging and recognising excellence in exhibition organisation and participation, she says.

The awards were made to exhibitions or activations that took place in 2018, and entries were judged on the overall exhibition/activation strategy incorporating marketing, public relations, operations, activation, stand construction and ROI.
